Alan's Computer hobbies

Since I spent 30 years surrounded by lots of unix workstations, then server and finally virtual servers, I'm really not that thrilled with home computers. However, having once been a Major Net Geek (tm) for a long time I had a rack of linux servers so that I could play on the net (see picture above). After I retired from IT work 2020 I stripped all of dorje.com down to a small wall-mounted shelf of networking equipment and a single desktop computer running linux. My, how the mighty have fallen!

I used to have three lowly (circa-1985) AT&T 3b1s (aka UnixPC) running dorje.uucp. Then moved to three Sun workstations and used those to run dorje.com. I then started in 2006 converting over to the linux servers and decomissioned the last Sun in 2011.
