Alan Fleming 134 Gold Rd Golden, CO 80403-9150 (303)/642-1299 (home) (303)/312-0171 (wk) Despite the Golden address, I live 30 miles from the city of Golden. Conceptually, I live just off Peak-to-Peak, a series of roads that runs along the tops of the front range of mountains, just west of Golden, Boulder, etc. The roads involved in this are: US-6, CO-72, CO-119 and CO-7. There is another road, CO-93, that parallels the front range from Golden up to Lyons. There are four different canyons that allow access between CO-93 and Peak-to-Peak. My house is halfway between Blackhawk and Nederland on Peak-to-Peak. The easiest: From Denver, take US-36 to Boulder. In Boulder, take Canyon Ave south/west. Canyon goes through downtown Boulder, then heads up Boulder Canyon to the town of Nederland. At Nederland, take CO-72/CO-119 south towards Rollinsville and Blackhawk. After a couple miles CO-72 will split off. Stay on CO-119. Go about 8 miles on CO-119. On the left, you'll pass the Beaver Park Inn/Store. 0.4 miles of a mile further south, on the right, you'll see a blue "Adopt a Highway" sign. Just after this sign is a dirt road called "Gold Rd". See "from Gold Road" below... The most scenic: From Denver take I-70 west. About 10 miles outside Denver, there is an exit at Golden for CO-72. (If you get to US-6 or CO-93, you've missed it). Take CO-72 west past Rocky Flats. CO-72 will cross CO-93, then head up Coal Creek Canyon through Wondervu, back down a canyon, through Pinebluff and will deadend onto CO-72. Turn south on CO-72/CO-119 (towards Rollinsville and Blackhawk). Go 3 miles. On the left, you'll pass the Beaver Park Inn/Store. 0.4 miles of a mile further south, on the right, you'll see a blue "Adopt a Highway" sign. Beside this sign is a dirt road called "Gold Rd". See "from Gold Road" below... The most direct: From Denver take I-70 west. Exit at either CO-58(Blackhawk/Central City exit) or US-6/6th Ave (Golden exit) Head north/west on CO-58 past the Coors brewery or take US-6 past the Jefferson County Court House. US-6 and CO-58 intersect in Golden. If you're on CO-58, go straight through the intersection, the road will change to US-6. If you came up US-6, make a right turn. US-6 will wind up Clear Creek Canyon and after about 15 miles connect with CO-119. Take CO-119 through the city of Blackhawk. Continue north on CO-119 for about 10 miles. Watch the mile markers on the side of the road. You will come down a steep switchback and see a 18 wheeler trailer on the right side of the road at mile marker 17. On the left is a dirt road. This is Gold Road. See "from Gold Road" below... From Gold Road: Go 100 yards up the dirt road. Feldspar Road will be on your left. Turn onto Feldspar road. Immediately, you should see my driveway on the right.
